You won’t find dark, dingy bathhouses here. Our restrooms are bright, spotless, and thoughtfully designed with floor-to-ceiling tile, teak shower floors, and a touch of home in every detail.

Walking Trails

Take a peaceful stroll through our natural East Texas landscape. Our walking trails wind beneath the tall pines and lead straight toward the heart of Ben Wheeler — where you’ll often find live music, good food, and friendly faces on the weekends.

Shaded Dog Park

Let your pup off the leash at the Big Tex “Barkgrounds” — our fully fenced, shaded dog park where four-legged campers can run, sniff, and play. We like to think it’s the best dog park of any RV park around… but we might be a little biased.

Picnic Tables

At every RV site, you’ll find a beautiful wooden picnic table perfect for sipping coffee at sunrise or grilling as the sun dips below the trees. When night falls, stretch out and look up — those big Texas stars don’t disappoint

First Monday Trade Days Canton

We’re 10 minutes from the world-famous First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Tx. Stay close to the action, shop all day, and come back to relax under the trees. Top the night off with some local East Texas music on the weekends at The Forge and Moore's Store or a campfire at your site

Every site at Big Tex Campgrounds is fully equipped with 30/50-amp electric, water, and sewer hookups to make your stay effortless. Hook up, settle in, and relax knowing you’ve got everything you need — reliable connections, clean surroundings, and plenty of time left to enjoy the view

From cardinals to woodpeckers, our natural grounds make the perfect backdrop for bird lovers. We have a pair of owls that hang around hooing every night if you listen close. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and see how many different species you can spot.
